Hung Nhon Group Supports "Aspiration for Life" Program, Aiding Vulnerable Children in Binh Phuoc
BINH PHUOC – A representative from Hung Nhon Group recently presented a symbolic check for 10 million VND to Dieu Dinh, an 11-year-old (born 2006) who is the eldest of three siblings. His younger brother, Dieu Nguyen, is 10 (born 2007), and his sister, Thi My Trang, is 4 (born 2013).
The family has endured immense tragedy. Four years ago, in 2013, just four months after Thi My Trang's birth, their mother suddenly passed away from a stroke. The grief of losing their mother was compounded two months later when their father silently abandoned the family, leaving the three young siblings adrift in a dilapidated house with no one to turn to.
Despite their own severe financial difficulties, their aunt, Thi Huyt (their father's sister), bravely took in the three children to raise alongside her own four young children.
The "Aspiration for Life" program, held that morning, successfully raised 150 million VND from generous donors and volunteers hailing from Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Ninh Thuan, and notably, overseas Vietnamese in Australia, the US, and Europe. Of this total, 20 million VND was allocated to purchase a cow for the family, intended to help them increase their production and income. The remaining 130 million VND will be deposited into a bank account managed by the communal People's Committee, with 1.5 million VND to be withdrawn monthly for the three siblings' living expenses.
The "Aspiration for Life" program is an annual initiative dedicated to assisting individuals facing difficult circumstances who demonstrate resilience. Its activities include medical examinations and treatment, home construction and repair, helping children attend school, and providing livelihood solutions. For 2018, Hung Nhon Group committed to sponsoring the program with a total of 120 million VND. The program is jointly organized by Ca Mau Radio and Television Station, Kien Giang Radio and Television Station, Ninh Thuan Radio and Television Station, Binh Phuoc Radio and Television Station, and Nhat Dong Advertising Joint Stock Company. Women's Newspaper serves as the media sponsor, while Cho Ray Hospital, Children's Hospital 1, and International Neuroscience Hospital provide medical patronage.
