The Vietnam Digital Agriculture Association (VIDA) recently held its inaugural congress for the 2019-2024 term in Hanoi, officially marking its launch.
At this event, BIDV (Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam) and VIDA (Vietnam Digital Agriculture Association) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation for joint development.

The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) has become the first credit institution to establish a cooperative relationship with the Vietnam Digital Agriculture Association (VIDA), formalized through a recently signed Memorandum of Understanding.
This partnership is designed for long-term and sustainable collaboration, ensuring mutual support that leverages each party's strengths in their respective operational and business areas, aligning with their strategic development goals.
Both BIDV and VIDA are committed to working together and creating favorable conditions for their members and customers to access and utilize products and services quickly and conveniently. They will ensure the provision of products and services at preferential, reasonable, and competitive interest rates and service fees, all in compliance with legal regulations.
VIDA was established based on the High-Tech Agriculture Club under the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association. Its core mission is to strengthen collective power and mobilize resources to advance Vietnam's agriculture towards digitalization, with the ambitious goal of "Wealth from Agriculture." The association will focus on practical tasks such as:
- Completing technological infrastructure for agriculture.
- Facilitating international connectivity and market expansion.
- Identifying and selecting appropriate technologies for various cultivation and processing models in Vietnam.
- Attracting investment for deep processing within the country.
- Training and developing digital agricultural human resources in Vietnam.

Dak Lak province, with its dominant agricultural sector where livestock farming holds the second-largest proportion and significantly contributes to the stability of the local economy, is poised for a major transformation. Between 2010 and 2018, the province's livestock sector consistently grew, with a 3.27% annual increase in production value (at 2010 comparative prices), a 1.98% increase in quantity, and a 3.3% increase in slaughtered meat output. In 2018, Dak Lak's pig herd reached 769,800 head, producing 132,700 tons of live weight pork, accounting for 41.8% of the Central Highlands' pig population and 59.9% of its pork output.
