With robust potential and extensive experience in agricultural production, De Heus Group and Hung Nhon Group, along with their partners, have steadily cemented their position over more than 10 years as leading high-tech agricultural producers in Vietnam. They've achieved this by building integrated agricultural production chains that deliver clean, high-value products for consumers.
Here are some key milestones:
- September 2017: De Heus Group and Hung Nhon Group, in collaboration with partners, successfully established a traceable clean chicken meat production chain meeting Global G.A.P standards. This achievement qualified their products for export to the highly demanding Japanese market, laying a crucial foundation for De Heus and Hung Nhon's ambition to elevate the value of Vietnam's livestock industry.
- May 2019: Construction began on the DHN Đắk Lắk High-Tech Agricultural Complex in Ea M'Droh commune, Cư M’Gar district, Đắk Lắk province. This vast complex spans nearly 200 hectares with a total investment for the 2019-2025 period of approximately $60 million USD (equivalent to 1,500 billion VND).
- A significant part of this complex, the Đắk Lắk high-yield pig breeding farm, has been completed. It boasts a capacity for 2,400 meticulously selected great-grandparent and grandparent pigs, ensuring superior genetic quality.
- The farm was scheduled to commence operations on October 4, 2021, with the importation of the first batch of great-grandparent and grandparent pigs from Canada. It is projected to supply approximately 24,000 parent pigs and gilts to the market annually.

De Heus and Hung Nhon are significantly expanding their high-tech agricultural footprint across Vietnam, with major projects underway and planned in the Central Highlands and Southern regions. Their strategy focuses on developing integrated value chains and establishing disease-free zones for livestock.
Expansive Investment Portfolio
The groups' current and planned investments include:
- Chư Pứh, Gia Lai: A DHN High-Tech Agricultural Complex spanning 100 hectares with a total investment of approximately 1,030 billion VND. Construction for this project is slated to begin in October 2021.
- Tây Ninh Province:
- On April 17, 2021, De Heus and Hung Nhon, in collaboration with Belga Company (Belgium), inaugurated the Bel Gà Tây Ninh hatchery. This facility represents an investment of $8.7 million USD (200 billion VND), with a Phase 1 capacity of over 19 million day-old chicks per year, set to expand to 38.4 million chicks per year in Phase 2.
- To complete the DHN Tây Ninh High-Tech Agricultural Complex, De Heus and Hung Nhon are finalizing investment procedures in Tan Hoi commune (Tan Chau district) and Phuoc Binh commune (Trang Bang district). This includes:
- Two parent stock chicken farms with a capacity of 25 million eggs per year.
- 250 safe broiler farms with a capacity of 25 million broilers per year.
- A system of closed-chain high-quality agricultural product processing plants.
- The total investment for these Tây Ninh projects is estimated at approximately $141.5 million USD (3,325 billion VND).
Strategic Vision for the Central Highlands
With a long-term strategy and a distinct vision for developing high-tech agricultural value chains and disease-free zones in the Central Highlands, De Heus and Hung Nhon are committed to further expansion. Building on their existing successes, they plan to continue collaborating on the DHN Đắk Nông High-Tech Agricultural Complex. This complex will produce high-quality agricultural products through a closed chain, encompassing:
- Selecting and producing breeding pigs.
- Automated pig slaughterhouses.
- Organic animal feed production.
- Organic fertilizer production.
- Trading top-quality Vietnamese livestock products, aiming for export to Southeast Asia and Asia.
Đắk Nông, located in the southwestern part of the Central Highlands, offers advantages in climate, land, and a concurrently developing transport infrastructure. These factors align perfectly with De Heus and Hung Nhon's strategy for building a high-tech agricultural zone.
2030 Vision for Breeding Pig Production
With a vision extending to 2030, De Heus and Hung Nhon will continue to expand their network of large-scale great-grandparent and grandparent pig breeding projects and disease-free zones across all Central Highlands provinces. Following the completion of projects in Đắk Lắk, Gia Lai, and Lâm Đồng, they will next implement projects in Đắk Nông and Kon Tum.
The targets for their breeding pig projects by 2030 include:
- A capacity of approximately 10,000 great-grandparent and grandparent pigs.
- Equivalent to 80,000 gilts per year.
- Equivalent to a sow herd capacity of approximately 200,000 head.
- Equivalent to approximately 6 million market pigs per year.
The total projected annual revenue is about $2 billion USD (46,500 billion VND).
Once completed, the DHN project chain will help shape the Central Highlands into a leading center for breeding pig supply and the development of high-tech livestock models in Southeast Asia and Asia.
The investment collaboration for the "DHN Đắk Nông High-Tech Agricultural Complex" will enable De Heus and Hung Nhon to complete their high-value, closed-loop pig production and supply chain. This will provide Vietnamese farmers with genetically strong, disease-free, and productive breeding stock, aligning with the Vietnamese government's and ministries' strong interest in 4.0 technology-driven agricultural economic development. This collaboration also fully leverages the inherent strengths of both entities, affirming the aspirations of De Heus and Hung Nhon to elevate the value of Vietnamese agricultural products and create high-value products that bring long-term, sustainable benefits to partners and customers.
