To fully unlock its potential, Binh Phuoc province critically needs high-tech, closed-loop agricultural models that span from production to consumption. An exemplary model for this is that of Hung Nhon Group, a pioneer in modern cultivation and livestock farming in Vietnam.
Hung Nhon Group's integrated approach, covering everything from breeding stock and feed to farming and processing, serves as a blueprint for the province's agricultural development. By adopting such comprehensive and technologically advanced models, Binh Phuoc can significantly enhance productivity, ensure product quality, and secure stable market access, thereby maximizing its inherent agricultural advantages.

Hung Nhon Group: Leading Vietnam's High-Tech and Sustainable Livestock Revolution
Hung Nhon Group is at the forefront of modernizing Vietnam's agricultural sector, leveraging advanced technology and strategic international partnerships to drive efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
Automated "Cold-House" Chicken Farming in Binh Phuoc
A visit to Hung Nhon's chicken farm in Thuận Lợi commune, Đồng Phú district, Binh Phuoc province, immediately reveals the impact of modern technology. The quiet atmosphere, with minimal human activity, underscores the high level of automation.
Across 7 hectares, eight chicken houses each accommodate over 41,000 birds. Every step, from feeding and watering to egg collection and waste removal, is handled by automated systems, drastically reducing the need for manual labor. Feed is automatically transferred from an external boiler to individual troughs, and eggs gently roll onto conveyor belts for collection. Workers primarily focus on sorting, cleaning, and disinfecting eggs, with packaging also being automated. Chicken manure is efficiently transported to a nearby factory for processing.
This farm alone produces nearly 315,000 eggs daily, totaling 130 million eggs annually. Hung Nhon collaborates with CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company to ensure guaranteed sales of these eggs.
Approximately 8 km away, the Thùy Thảo broiler farm spans 20 hectares and features 20 "cold-house" chicken farms. This facility also utilizes advanced technology from Germany's Big Dutchman Group, with all processes fully automated. It boasts a total production of 3 million broiler chickens per year.
To execute these two large-scale chicken projects, Hung Nhon Group has established a robust and sustainable collaborative chain with:
- De Heus (Netherlands): A specialist in animal feed.
- Bel Ga (Belgium): A key provider of breeding chickens in Vietnam.
- San Hà Co., Ltd.: A major supplier of commercial broiler chickens to domestic supermarkets.
The combined investment for these two egg-laying and broiler chicken farms exceeds 180 billion VND. Hung Nhon Group plans further expansion with an additional 10 broiler farms, aiming to boost annual output to 4 million broiler chickens. Beyond meat and eggs, these two farms produce about 20,000 tons of chicken manure annually, which the group processes into fertilizer for its rubber plantations and supplies to local farmers.
Expanding into High-Yield Pig Breeding with DHN Dak Lak
Continuing the success of their Binh Phuoc chicken farms, Hung Nhon Group and De Heus (Netherlands) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Hanoi on April 10, witnessed by government representatives from both Vietnam and the Netherlands. This agreement officially established DHN Dak Lak High-Yield Pig Breeding Development Joint Stock Company.
Recognizing the complex pig disease situation in Vietnam and the high demand for healthy, high-yielding genetic breeding stock for herd rebuilding, Hung Nhon and De Heus are accelerating their collaboration to build a modern pig farming system in Dak Lak province.
This project will directly import carefully selected great-grandparent (GGP) and grandparent (GP) pigs from the Netherlands. This ensures a superior genetic pool for producing high-performing grandparent (GP) and parent-stock (PS) pigs for the Vietnamese market, serving local farmers' needs.
The pig farming process will be fully automated, integrating Industry 4.0 technology from the feed production plant directly to individual pigs fitted with microchips. Management software will allow DHN Dak Lak to meticulously control farm conditions, animal health, feed rations, growth periods, and reproductive cycles for each animal. Furthermore, this software will manage input and output costs to assess breeding efficiency and provide critical early warnings for any issues, enabling De Heus's technical team to analyze and implement timely solutions.
The project is designed to have a breeding capacity of 2,400 GGP and GP pigs. It will be implemented in four phases with a total investment of approximately $22 million (equivalent to 500 billion VND). Once fully operational, it's expected to supply about 22,000 GP and PS pigs to the market annually.
This significant expansion underscores Hung Nhon Group's commitment to advancing Vietnam's agricultural sector, providing clean and sustainable food sources, and establishing disease-safe farming regions.

A significant innovation in the high-yield pig breeding project in Dak Lak province is the solar power system for the farms. This marks it as the first livestock farm model in Vietnam to have a solar power system invested from the outset for production purposes, offering long-term benefits. Utilizing renewable solar energy will be more cost-effective than other power sources and will not harm the environment. |
