On the afternoon of October 7, 2021, representatives from Hung Nhon Group (Vietnam) and De Heus Group (Netherlands), along with the Kon Tum Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association, met with the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee to discuss plans for investing in several high-tech agricultural projects within the province.
Two Major Groups Eye High-Tech Livestock Project in Kon Tum
At the meeting, Mr. Vu Manh Hung, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Digital Agriculture Association and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hung Nhon Group,1 stated that with their strong potential and extensive experience in agricultural production, De Heus Group, Hung Nhon Group, and their partners have successfully pioneered and collaborated with various partners over the past 10 years. They've developed integrated supply chain models for high-quality breeding stock, production of traceable clean meat, and products meeting export standards.
Following the initial success of the High-Tech Agricultural Application Complex in Đắk Lắk, the two groups expressed their desire to invest in and build a high-tech livestock farming area in Kon Tum. This integrated chain would encompass: selecting and producing breeding pigs; pig slaughtering; organic animal feed production; organic fertilizer production; and trading of top-quality livestock products in Vietnam.
According to Mr. Vũ Mạnh Hùng, successfully implementing this value chain will bring superior economic efficiency compared to traditional production. It will ensure food safety and hygiene, be environmentally friendly according to both Vietnamese and international standards, and also aim to build a pilot disease-free zone.
This project will apply 100% 4.0 high technology throughout the entire livestock farming process, adhering to international standards.
The farm system will be operated and monitored using 4.0 technology by SKIOLD (Denmark). This will help to effectively control livestock quality, optimize farming performance, reduce product costs, and achieve high economic efficiency.
By implementing this linked chain and applying high technology, the project will not only help businesses complete an efficient livestock chain but also create jobs for farmers and protect the environment.
Mr. Gabor Fluit, General Director of De Heus Asia, representing De Heus Group (Netherlands), announced their strategic intent: "With the long-term strategy and unique vision of Hung Nhon Group and De Heus Group in developing a high-tech agricultural value chain and building disease-free zones in the Central Highlands, we plan to continue cooperating and investing in several high-tech agricultural projects in Kon Tum province."
Mr. Fluit further elaborated on the project's objectives: "The goal of the project is to produce high-quality agricultural products through a closed chain, including: selecting and producing breeding pigs; automatic pig slaughterhouses; organic animal feed production; organic fertilizer production; and trading top-quality Vietnamese livestock products, aiming for export to Southeast Asia and Asia."
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Tan Liem, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, affirmed that Kon Tum's investment environment is very favorable, especially for livestock farming. He highlighted the province's ample land, clean environment, and guaranteed disease safety. Additionally, for animal feed processing, Kon Tum boasts a large raw material area, making it highly advantageous for businesses seeking to invest.
After hearing input from businesses and delegates, Mr. Le Ngoc Tuan, Chairman of the Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee, stated: "In the province's socio-economic development orientation, we have identified agriculture as our top priority. Therefore, we warmly welcome major corporations and businesses to invest in Kon Tum province, especially in high-tech livestock farming and value chain linkages."
"For Kon Tum province, the entire political system will stand alongside businesses, always ready to welcome enterprises to invest in the area," Mr. Tuan affirmed.
To implement these projects, Mr. Le Ngoc Tuan also requested that Hung Nhon Group and De Heus Group submit their proposals in writing to Kon Tum province as soon as possible for review and resolution. On the province's part, Mr. Tuan directed relevant departments and agencies to provide maximum support and create favorable conditions for the two groups as they proceed with related work.
