According to the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, during the 2016-2020 period, Gia Lai attracted 515 investment projects with a total registered capital exceeding 830 trillion VND. This represents a five-fold increase in the number of projects and a 36-fold increase in total investment compared to the 2011-2015 period. Of these, 237 projects were granted investment policy decisions or investment registration certificates, totaling 65.9 trillion VND in registered capital.
Specifically in 2021, Gia Lai approved 60 investment projects with a total registered capital exceeding 29 trillion VND. Additionally, 172 projects are currently under consideration and proposed by investors, with a total registered capital of approximately 67 trillion VND.

Mr. Vo Ngoc Thanh, Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, stated that, with its position as the gateway to the Central Highlands, Gia Lai is not only becoming a hub for trade and commercial goods and services within the Cambodia - Laos - Vietnam development triangle but also a crucial transportation hub connecting the Central Highlands with provinces in the Central and Southeast regions.
In the coming period, Gia Lai province will continue to accelerate administrative reforms, resolving difficulties and obstacles for businesses and investors. The province aims to build an equal, open, and transparent business investment environment and effectively implement preferential policies and support solutions to attract capable investors to Gia Lai.
At the conference, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee awarded investment policy decisions for 17 agricultural projects with a total investment of 15 trillion VND. Notably among these is the DHN Gia Lai High-Tech Agricultural Complex project, covering 100 hectares with a total investment of 1.03 trillion VND.
This project marks the fourth DHN high-tech agricultural complex in Vietnam by the two groups, De Heus (Netherlands) and Hung Nhon. The project specializes in producing high-quality agricultural products through a closed-loop chain, including:
- Selection and production of breeding pigs and chickens.
- An automated pig slaughterhouse.
- Organic animal feed production.
- Organic fertilizer production.
- Trading of livestock products.
In his directive speech at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that the tasks facing Gia Lai province in the coming period are very challenging, requiring great effort and determination from the entire political system and ethnic communities within the province.
"The Government will implement appropriate policies and mechanisms to ensure that the Central Highlands in general, and Gia Lai in particular, can mobilize the highest possible resources, significantly improve the investment environment, and effectively leverage cooperation and support from the community of domestic and international donors and investors," affirmed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
