August 2026 marked a month of notable activities for Hung Nhon Group in strengthening cooperation, expanding investment in high-tech agriculture, and spreading positive values to the community.
In this issue, Hung Nhon News brings you the following highlights:
- Expanding cooperation and investment: Hung Nhon – De Heus continued to strengthen cooperation, expand value-chain linkages, and pursue investment and development in high-tech agriculture in Tay Ninh.
- Supporting the business community: Leaders of Hung Nhon Group participated in and shared their experience at economic forums, contributing to dialogue, resource connectivity, and the development of the private economic sector.

HIGHLIGHTED ACTIVITIES
- Hung Nhon – De Heus Commit VND 18.3 Trillion to Expand the High-Tech Agricultural Value Chain in Tay Ninh from 2026 to 2036 (August 28, 2026):
As part of the Tay Ninh 2026 Investment Promotion Conference, Hung Nhon Group and De Heus (the Netherlands) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the “Hung Nhon – De Heus – Bel Gà Value Chain Expansion Cooperation Program for 2026–2036,” witnessed by central government leaders and leaders of Tay Ninh Province.
Under the agreement, the Hung Nhon – De Heus – Bel Gà value chain is expected to implement 13 projects in Tay Ninh with a total investment of approximately VND 18.3 trillion, developing a livestock ecosystem spanning breeding stock, animal feed, livestock farming, slaughtering, processing and consumption, with the goal of establishing Tay Ninh as a high-tech livestock farming center in the region.
- Hung Nhon – De Heus Connect to Expand European Investment Capital in Tay Ninh (August 28, 2026):
Hung Nhon and De Heus discussed orientations for cooperation, investment expansion and the potential implementation of projects in Tay Ninh, while coordinating with the Provincial People’s Committee and relevant departments and agencies to accelerate progress and address challenges during implementation.
The continued development of the high-tech agricultural value chain is expected to contribute to positioning Tay Ninh as a “high-tech livestock farming hub,” associated with quality control, biosecurity and traceability.
- Hung Nhon Participates in the 2026 Vietnam Private Economic Forum in Dong Nai City (August 7, 2026):
Mr. Vu Manh Hung – Chairman of Hung Nhon Group and Standing Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai City Business Federation – attended the 2026 Vietnam Private Economic Forum (Local Round, Dong Nai City), themed “Institutional Breakthroughs – Public-Private Synergy: Connecting Resources, Unlocking Growth Potential.”
The forum provided an opportunity for stakeholders to share practical experience, propose solutions to address challenges, and promote the dynamic and sustainable development of the private economic sector, contributing to socio-economic growth.
- Hung Nhon Participates in Dialogue and Shares Experience in Developing International Value-Chain Linkages (August 7, 2026):
As part of the 2026 Vietnam Private Economic Forum (Local Round, Dong Nai City), Mr. Vu Manh Hung – Chairman of Hung Nhon Group – participated as a speaker in the dialogue session, sharing practical perspectives on value-chain linkage models and international cooperation, drawing on nearly 30 years of experience in development and cooperation with leading European partners such as De Heus.
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
- Hung Nhon – De Heus Present 100 Gift Packages to Families Affected by Agent Orange and Disadvantaged Students in Tay Ninh (August 27, 2026):
Hung Nhon Group, in coordination with De Heus, presented 100 gift packages worth a total of VND 75 million to families affected by Agent Orange/Dioxin and students facing difficult circumstances in Tan Hoi Commune, Tay Ninh Province. The program demonstrated a spirit of sharing and community responsibility, contributing to supporting families in stabilizing their lives and providing encouragement for students to overcome difficulties and continue striving in their studies ahead of the new school year.
DOMESTIC AGRICULTURAL ECONOMY
- Pig Farming Grows Steadily, While Poultry Continues to Increase: According to the National Statistics Office, as of the end of July 2026, the national pig population increased by 2.6% compared with the same period in 2025, while the poultry population increased by 3.1%. Pig farming was assessed as developing steadily, while poultry farming continued to maintain solid growth momentum.
- Several Animal Feed Companies Raise Prices for the Fifth Time: Since early August 2026, several major companies have continued to adjust animal feed prices upward, marking the fifth price increase of the year, amid persistently high input costs in the livestock sector.
- Ho Chi Minh City Strengthens Disease Prevention and Animal Vaccination Coverage: Following the merger, Ho Chi Minh City has approximately 22.5 million livestock and poultry and nearly 42,000 livestock farming establishments. The city has administered more than 15 million vaccine doses, while setting a target of increasing vaccination coverage to 80% of the total livestock and poultry population and expanding disease-free zones and establishments.
- National Assembly Passes Amendments to the Law on Animal Husbandry, Law on Veterinary Medicine and Other Agricultural Laws: On August 24, the National Assembly passed amendments to 10 laws in the agriculture and environment sectors, including the Law on Animal Husbandry and the Law on Veterinary Medicine. The new regulations aim to reduce administrative procedures and business conditions while increasing decentralization to local authorities.
INTERNATIONAL AGRICULTURAL ECONOMY
- US Resumes Livestock Imports from Mexico After More Than a Year of Suspension: From August 24, the US resumed livestock imports from Mexico through the Douglas port of entry in Arizona after a suspension of more than one year due to the risk of New World screwworm. Imports are being resumed gradually under strict animal identification and quarantine requirements.
- African Swine Fever Continues to Pose Complex Challenges Across Asia-Pacific: According to the FAO, ASF continues to occur in several countries across the region. In Vietnam, as of early July, 697 outbreaks had been recorded across 28 provinces and cities, with more than 96,000 pigs culled. New outbreaks have also been reported in countries including South Korea, the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.
- Drought Puts Pressure on Livestock Feed Supplies in the EU: Prolonged heatwaves and droughts across several European countries have reduced pasture availability and caused shortages of livestock feed, forcing many farms to use stored feed earlier than planned, increasing costs and pressure on the livestock sector.
- WOAH Calls for Increased Investment in Global Veterinary Systems: Leaders of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) called for approximately US$2.3 billion in additional annual investment in animal health systems to strengthen the capacity to detect and prevent diseases transmitted from animals to humans, amid the continued increase in animal disease outbreaks.

Tay Ninh, August 28, 2026 – As part of the Tay Ninh 2026 Investment Promotion Conference, the Tay Ninh Provincial People’s Committee held a ceremony to acknowledge the investment interest of 41 corporations in 59 projects, with total proposed investment capital of approximately VND 720 trillion, equivalent to US$28 billion.
