VIETSTOCK 2018 Welcomes High-Level Dignitaries and International Participants
The 9th iteration of VIETSTOCK 2018 saw a significant turnout of key figures and international representation. The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Tran Thanh Nam, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, Acting Director General of the Department of Livestock Production.
From UBM Asia, Mr. Jime Essink, CEO, and Mr. M. Gandhi, Managing Director and Senior Vice President, were also in attendance. The exhibition itself boasted a robust international presence, with 368 participating units from 46 countries and territories.

At this year's Vietstock exhibition, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, Director of the Department of Livestock Production under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, highlighted significant milestones for Vietnam's animal husbandry sector. He noted that 2017 marked the first official export of Vietnamese chicken to Japan by Hung Nhon Group, followed by the first official export of Vietnamese frozen pork to Myanmar in 2018. These achievements, he stated, "demonstrate the maturity of livestock enterprises and affirm the quality and food safety of Vietnamese livestock products, enabling them to penetrate developed markets."
This year's Vietstock exhibition showcases comprehensive solutions and technological products from leading international enterprises. These offerings aim to improve food safety and hygiene, encourage technology transfer, and foster investment cooperation with domestic businesses.
Among the 21 recognized enterprises at the exhibition, Hung Nhon Group stood out. Its integrated value chain, which facilitated the first batch of broiler chickens exported to Japan, along with operating one of Vietnam's first GlobalG.A.P-certified broiler farms, was honored for its contributions to the sustainable development of Vietnam's livestock industry across all aspects of the value chain.
Concurrently with Vietstock, the Vietfeed, Vietmeat, and Aquaculture Vietnam events will focus on the needs of the entire production and supply chain for meat and seafood products, covering feed, farming, production, processing, packaging, and consumption.
Vietstock 2018 is set to conclude on October 19 and is expected to attract approximately 12,000 visitors seeking new products and advanced technologies. The exhibition promises to open up significant business networking opportunities for Vietnam's livestock, aquaculture, meat processing, and ancillary industries with surrounding regions.
