On March 28, continuing her official visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan visited the World Horti Center for High-Tech Agriculture and held a working session with the Dutch Cooperative Development Agency (Agriterra) in Arnhem.
Sharing insights into Agriterra's operations, Director Kees Blokland outlined the organization's services. These include consultancy and training, fostering cooperation, and facilitating professional knowledge exchange. Agriterra also plays a crucial role in helping farmer organizations access bank financing more easily and improving the quality of services they offer.

In its ongoing partnership with Vietnam, the Dutch Cooperative Development Agency (Agriterra) has been actively engaged in knowledge transfer and capacity building. Agriterra has dispatched experts to Vietnam for direct consultation and has also hosted officials from the Vietnam Farmers' Union in the Netherlands for hands-on training.
Further solidifying this collaboration, Agriterra has signed a master plan for a cooperation action program with the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance. A key objective of this plan is to build farmers' trust in cooperatives and introduce best practices in cooperative management, encouraging greater member participation. The program also aims to facilitate cooperatives' access to capital, help them penetrate new markets, integrate them into value chains, and promote the adoption of advanced technologies for high-tech agricultural development. This comprehensive cooperation program has received approval from both Vietnam's Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
During their visit, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and her delegation engaged in discussions, seeking to understand more about Agriterra's operational model, particularly its approach to value chain production. They also explored the roles of the Dutch parliament and government in supporting Agriterra and cooperatives in the Netherlands through policies and resources.

“A good product alone is not enough to enter highly demanding markets. Behind the product must be an integrated production chain with consistent control, from breeding stock, animal feed, farms and biosecurity to processing, traceability and environmental standards.”
