DAK LAK – A sprawling 200-hectare, high-tech agricultural complex, the DHN Dak Lak High-Tech Agricultural Complex Project, is set to revolutionize farming in the Central Highlands. With a total investment of $66 million (approximately 1,500 billion VND), the project commenced in Q3 2019 and is slated for completion by Q4 2025.
The ambitious undertaking encompasses several key components: an 80-hectare pig breeding farm housing 2,400 great-grandparent (GGP) pigs meticulously selected and imported directly from the Netherlands; a 30-hectare chicken breeding farm; a 15-hectare pig slaughterhouse and organic fertilizer production plant; a 20-hectare administration and support services area; a 30-hectare organic cultivation zone and green spaces; and 25 hectares dedicated to transportation and technical infrastructure.
Mr. Vu Manh Hung, Chairman and CEO of Hung Nhon Group, stated that upon completion, the DHN Dak Lak High-Tech Agricultural Complex will emerge as a cutting-edge hub for livestock farming, producing goods through a closed-loop supply chain adhering to international standards. The complex will encompass animal feed production, organic fertilizer manufacturing, and the trade of premium Vietnamese livestock products, with a strategic focus on exports to Southeast Asia.
The project integrates a grid-connected solar power system and employs Industry 4.0 technology throughout its livestock operations, meeting 349 GlobalG.A.P standards. Crucially, the initiative is expected to generate 200 to 300 jobs for ethnic minority workers, provide specialized training in modern livestock technology, and significantly contribute to the province's socio-economic development.
Mr. Hung urged Dak Lak province to provide favorable conditions regarding land allocation, mechanisms, legal frameworks, and specific support to facilitate the swift completion of the DHN Dak Lak High-Tech Agricultural Complex. The project's overarching goal is to position Dak Lak as a leading province in high-tech agriculture, supplying disease-free breeding stock to the Central Highlands and Southern provinces, and serving as Vietnam's first pilot disease-free zone.
Mr. Pham Ngoc Nghi, Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged the province's substantial agricultural potential, particularly its extensive land resources. He noted the current challenges facing the national livestock industry, including disease outbreaks and price declines, which have also impacted the province.
Mr. Nghi affirmed that the investment in the DHN High-Tech Agricultural Complex aligns perfectly with Dak Lak's agricultural economic development strategy, paving the way for the sustainable growth of its agricultural sector, especially livestock farming, in the future. He pledged the Provincial People's Committee's full support to Hung Nhon Group and De Heus for their investment in Dak Lak and expressed hope for the timely implementation and completion of the project as agreed by all parties.
Concurrently, Hung Nhon Group also signed a cooperation program with the Plant Protection Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to develop organic fertilizers.

Hung Nhon: Controlling the Entire Value Chain to Access International Markets
“A good product alone is not enough to enter highly demanding markets. Behind the product must be an integrated production chain with consistent control, from breeding stock, animal feed, farms and biosecurity to processing, traceability and environmental standards.”
