On March 10 in Hanoi, De Heus Group, in collaboration with Hung Nhon Group, officially announced the Sustainable Agricultural Value Chain Development Strategy for the 2026–2036 period, reaffirming their long-term investment commitment in Vietnam.
The event was attended by Mr. Phung Duc Tien – Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ngoc – Deputy Minister of Justice; H.E. Kees van Baar – Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Vietnam; along with leaders from various departments under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and senior executives from De Heus and Hung Nhon.

Having been present in Vietnam for nearly two decades, De Heus has consistently pursued a long-term strategy focused on developing a sustainable agricultural value chain.
According to Mr. Gabor Fluit, CEO of De Heus, Vietnam is a strategic market within the company’s long-term vision in Asia. Under the 2026–2036 strategy, De Heus is committed to continued long-term investment, supporting Vietnamese farmers through comprehensive solutions aimed at improving production efficiency and promoting sustainable development.
At present, Hung Nhon serves as a key strategic partner of De Heus in Vietnam. To date, the two groups have jointly implemented 15 projects across Tay Ninh province and the Central Highlands, with a total investment of approximately VND 12.4 trillion. Among these, Tay Ninh has been identified as the core development hub, hosting 12 projects with total investment capital of VND 10 trillion, playing a central role in building a large-scale integrated ecosystem encompassing livestock production, processing, and export.
The 2026–2036 period marks a strategic milestone for both De Heus and Hung Nhon in their journey to establish a modern, sustainable livestock value chain aligned with green agriculture trends and the increasingly stringent demands of both domestic and international markets.
The two partners plan to further expand projects in Tay Ninh and Gia Lai with an additional investment of nearly VND 6 trillion, bringing the total investment for the 2026–2036 period to VND 18.3 trillion.
Upon full completion, the Hung Nhon – De Heus value chain is expected to generate nearly USD 2 billion in annual revenue, contributing to increased value addition, enhanced competitiveness, and stronger export capacity for Vietnam’s livestock sector. This collaborative model is also expected to become a benchmark for sustainable agricultural value chain development.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien emphasized that this initiative goes beyond investment in technology, breeding stock, or modern production processes—it represents a long-term commitment to supporting farmers and advancing Vietnam’s agricultural sector.
He also highlighted the crucial role of Vietnamese enterprises in such value chains, stating:
"This demonstrates that Vietnam possesses enterprises with long-term vision, modern governance capabilities, and a strong aspiration to contribute to the development of national agriculture."
Mr. Johan van den Ban, General Director of De Heus Vietnam and Asia, shared:
"Through our partnership with Hung Nhon, De Heus aims to leverage mutual strengths to build a tightly integrated value chain—from breeding stock and animal feed to processing and traceability—thereby enhancing production efficiency, reducing risks for farmers, and creating sustainable value across the entire chain."
Mr. Vu Manh Hung, Chairman of Hung Nhon Group, reaffirmed the company’s long-term commitment to partnering with De Heus in developing a sustainable agricultural value chain.
"Building on De Heus’s internationally standardized technology and Hung Nhon’s deep understanding of the domestic market, we aim to deliver tangible value to farmers, contribute to local economic development, and enhance the competitiveness of Vietnam’s livestock industry," he stated.
