On September 27, in Ea M'droh commune, Cư M'gar district, Đắk Lắk province, Hung Nhon Group and De Heus Group (Netherlands), in collaboration with the People's Committee of Đắk Lắk province, held the groundbreaking ceremony for the "DHN Đắk Lắk High-Tech Agricultural Complex" project.
Representatives from Hung Nhon Group and De Heus Group announced that the project is a closed-chain complex designed to produce high-quality agricultural products. This includes selecting and producing breeding pigs and chickens, an automated pig slaughterhouse, organic animal feed production, organic fertilizer production, and trading top-tier Vietnamese livestock products with an aim for export to Southeast Asia.
The project incorporates 100% high technology conforming to international standards. The farm system will be operated and monitored using Industry 4.0 technology, which helps enhance livestock productivity, ensure traceability, improve the quality of clean meat, and simultaneously reduce energy consumption and operating costs, leading to stability and sustainability for the farm.
The entire breeding and reproduction process will be strictly controlled to produce and meet the growing demand for high-quality great-grandparent, parent, and commercial breeding pigs, creating a source of clean agricultural products for the market and working towards establishing a disease-free zone. Upon completion, this chain of projects will help position the Central Highlands as a leading hub for breeding pig supply and the development of high-tech livestock models in Southeast Asia and Asia.
Deputy Minister Emphasizes Project's Significance
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Phung Duc Tien, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, affirmed that in the coming period, agriculture in general, and livestock in particular, will continue to be a crucial economic sector contributing to the nation's development. Therefore, the "DHN Đắk Lắk High-Tech Agricultural Complex" project not only signifies a vital new beginning for the enterprises involved but also opens new prospects and marks a new development milestone for the livestock industry specifically and Vietnamese agriculture as a whole.
"Notably, the project is invested with the aim of establishing a disease-free zone and producing high-quality products, setting a precedent for key Vietnamese livestock products like pork and chicken to be exported to the European market," Mr. Phung Duc Tien highlighted. "The project will solve the challenge of stably supplying high-yield, high-quality pig and chicken breeding stock in Vietnam. It creates an integrated, sustainable development chain from initial breeding stock, feed, care processes, slaughtering, processing, and distribution following a circular economy model. This project is also an exemplary model, applying 4.0 technology, contributing to enhancing productivity and quality, ensuring traceability, reducing energy consumption and operating costs, and delivering high economic efficiency. Furthermore, it's a model for environmentally friendly agricultural development and production, utilizing solar energy and organic farming practices. The project will create job opportunities for nearly 300 local laborers, helping to train a specialized workforce in high-value livestock farming and modern organic cultivation."
Project Scope and Investment
The project has a total investment of 1,500 billion VND and is scheduled for implementation from Q3 2020 to Q4 2025. It spans approximately 200 hectares, including:
- A great-grandparent pig breeding farm, with stock selected and imported directly from the Netherlands, covering about 80 hectares.
- A chicken breeding farm of approximately 30 hectares.
- A pork slaughterhouse and organic fertilizer production plant covering about 15 hectares.
- An administration and support services area of approximately 20 hectares.
- An area for organic farming and green spaces of about 30 hectares.
- Land for roads and technical infrastructure of approximately 25 hectares.

Hung Nhon: Controlling the Entire Value Chain to Access International Markets
“A good product alone is not enough to enter highly demanding markets. Behind the product must be an integrated production chain with consistent control, from breeding stock, animal feed, farms and biosecurity to processing, traceability and environmental standards.”
