On May 14, during the groundbreaking ceremony for the DHN Gia Lai High-Tech Agricultural Complex, Hung Nhon Group and De Heus Co., Ltd. officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding a strategic cooperation program between the two companies.
Representing Hung Nhon was Mr. Vu Manh Hung, Chairman and CEO. Representing De Heus Vietnam was Mr. Koen de Heus, Global CEO of Royal De Heus Group.
The MoU signing ceremony was witnessed by notable figures including: Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Standing Member of the National Assembly's Economic Committee; His Excellency Daniël Stork, Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Phung Duc Tien, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development; Mr. Ho Van Nien, Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Vo Ngoc Thanh, Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa, Deputy Secretary of the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Le Trong Yen, Vice Chairman of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Gabor Fluit, Asia Regional General Director of De Heus; Mr. Johan van den Ban, General Director of De Heus Vietnam; and Ms. Le Thi Phuong Nhon, Vice Chairwoman of Hung Nhon Group's Board of Directors.
Under the MoU, the two parties will collaboratively plan, construct, and develop projects in the livestock and animal feed production sectors. Specifically, during the 2022-2030 period, De Heus and Hung Nhon will continue their cooperation to expand and develop a network of large-scale great-grandparent and grandparent pig breeding projects and disease-free1 zones across the five provinces of the Central Highlands region.
Following the completion of the project in Gia Lai, subsequent projects will be rolled out in Dak Nong and Kon Tum. Upon completion, this chain of projects is expected to establish the Central Highlands as a leading center for breeding pigs and developing high-tech livestock farming models in Southeast Asia and Asia.
De Heus and Hung Nhon's pig breeding project has ambitious goals for 2030: an estimated capacity of 10,000 great-grandparent, grandparent, and parent pigs (equivalent to 80,000 gilts annually), a sow herd of about 200,000, and roughly 6 million commercial pigs. The projected total annual revenue from this venture is around $2 billion USD.
For poultry farming, De Heus and Hung Nhon have established the Bel Ga breeding complex in Tay Ninh. This project includes two parent stock farms with a capacity of 25 million eggs per year, 250 safe broiler farms capable of producing 25 million broiler chickens annually, and a complex of factories for closed-loop production and processing of high-quality agricultural products.
Following the signing ceremony, all parties will swiftly discuss, implement, and finalize the detailed content of the projects under this cooperation program. They'll also quickly negotiate and sign specific contracts to put the MoU's commitments into action.
