The field survey conducted by Can Tho City leaders together with Hung Nhon Group and De Heus Group aimed to promote investment in local aquaculture development, as well as strengthen linkages and cooperation in production, processing, and product distribution.
On the afternoon of April 20, Mr. Tran Chi Hung, Vice Chairman of the Can Tho City People’s Committee, along with leaders of several city departments and agencies, carried out an on-site survey of several aquaculture areas in the city together with Hung Nhon Group and De Heus Group.
The delegation visited and reviewed the development of aquaculture in Lieu Tu Commune, while also conducting site visits to farming areas and local aquaculture models, including brackish water shrimp farming, seabass farming, and tilapia farming in several hamlets of Lieu Tu Commune. Lieu Tu is currently one of the communes with a relatively large aquaculture area, totaling more than 1,500 hectares, including over 1,300 hectares dedicated to brackish water shrimp farming.
The survey by Can Tho City leaders together with Hung Nhon Group and De Heus Group was intended to foster investment in local aquaculture development, while enhancing linkages and cooperation in production, processing, and product consumption. It also aims to build a high-tech agricultural value chain, promote green and sustainable agriculture, and create higher value and more stable market outlets for farmers.

Hung Nhon Group is a domestic enterprise with strong capabilities in high-tech livestock farming. De Heus Group (the Netherlands) is an international company with strengths in animal feed and aquafeed production, as well as in the development of global value chain linkages.
De Heus has successfully collaborated with many partners, including Hung Nhon Group, to develop integrated agricultural value chain models for high-quality livestock and aquaculture breeding stock, with traceability and standards that meet export requirements for demanding markets.
The Hung Nhon - De Heus partnership has been established and developed for more than 15 years and continues to expand across many provinces and cities in Vietnam, with the orientation of building a sustainable, modern, and responsible agricultural value chain aligned with green growth trends, the circular economy, and increasingly stringent market requirements.
Hung Nhon Group and De Heus Group are conducting on-site surveys of aquaculture locations and farming areas in Can Tho City in preparation for the implementation of a green agriculture and circular economy investment plan for the 2026-2030 period, while also strengthening the high-tech agricultural value chain.
In the coming development plan, Hung Nhon - De Heus will continue to invest strongly in livestock farming, breeding stock production, animal feed, fertilizers, food processing, and integrated agricultural value chains in Vietnam, with the goal of building green production models, reducing emissions, and maintaining quality control throughout the entire process from input to output, in order to meet the increasingly high demands of the market.
