Hung Nhon – De Heus advance high-tech, sustainable livestock development in Vietnam

Hanoi, May 6, 2026 – At the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Minister Trinh Viet Hung received and held a working session with a high-level delegation from Royal De Heus and Hung Nhon to discuss and promote cooperation in high-tech livestock farming and sustainable agricultural development.

The meeting took place following Royal De Heus’s recent acquisition of CJ Feed & Care in Asia, further expanding its scale and strengthening its presence in the region. Representatives of Royal De Heus presented their investment and business development plans for Vietnam and the region for the 2026–2030 period, while also proposing strategic cooperation orientations for 2026–2036.

 Accordingly, Royal De Heus will continue to collaborate with Hung Nhon to develop integrated livestock value chains applying high technology and meeting international standards, with a focus on enhancing production capacity, optimizing supply chains, controlling diseases, and increasing the value of livestock products.

Mr. Co de Heus, Chairman of Royal De Heus, affirmed: “Royal De Heus identifies Vietnam as a key market in its Asian development strategy and is committed to long-term investment through technology transfer and close cooperation with local partners, contributing to the development of a modern, efficient, and sustainable livestock sector.”

On this basis, all parties agreed to promote the application of digital agriculture, data management in production, efficient resource utilization, and the recycling of by-products within the livestock value chain to reduce environmental impact and enhance sustainability.

Mr. Johan Van Den Ban, CEO of Royal De Heus Asia and Vietnam, shared: “Royal De Heus focuses on developing high-tech, environmentally friendly livestock models, working closely with partners and farmers to enhance management capacity and meet international standards. Through this, we aim to provide safe, traceable food at reasonable prices for the domestic market, while gradually expanding export opportunities in line with sustainable development.”

This direction reflects Royal De Heus’s long-term growth strategy in Vietnam, focusing on transferring and scaling effective models through collaboration with local partners and farmers. By synchronizing breeding, nutrition, technical processes, and value chain management, Royal De Heus aims to enhance productivity, quality, and competitiveness, while ensuring biosecurity, food safety, and compliance with increasingly stringent market standards.

In its expansion strategy in Vietnam, Royal De Heus is partnering with Hung Nhon to develop disease-free farming zones, improve product quality, and meet international standards. To date, the two parties have implemented and are developing 15 projects in Tay Ninh and the Central Highlands, with a total investment of approximately VND 12,400 billion.

A highlight of this project chain is a European-standard poultry slaughtering and processing plant, meeting Halal, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000 standards, contributing to value enhancement and export expansion. By 2036, the Hung Nhon – Royal De Heus value chain aims to achieve annual revenue of approximately USD 2 billion, with a production scale of 200 million chicks per year, 25 million broilers for export annually, and 10,000 grandparent breeding pigs—laying a solid foundation for a sustainable livestock value chain.

Mr. Vu Manh Hung, Chairman of Hung Nhon, stated: “Hung Nhon remains committed to partnering with Royal De Heus in developing a modern livestock value chain, ensuring biosecurity and increasing added value, thereby supporting farmers in improving income and promoting sustainable production.”

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Trinh Viet Hung highly appreciated the effective cooperation between Royal De Heus and Hung Nhon, considering it a typical model for agricultural value chain development. He emphasized: “We will create favorable conditions in accordance with the law for enterprises to invest in high-tech agriculture and develop modern, safe, and sustainable livestock farming. At the same time, we encourage stronger linkages with farmers and value chain-based production to support the development of the livestock sector and ensure national food security.”

Later the same day, the delegation of Royal De Heus and Hung Nhon visited and worked with the Hanoi Party Committee. At the meeting, Mr. Tran Duc Thang, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, appreciated the investment and cooperation activities of the two groups in Vietnam and expressed his expectation that they will continue to expand investment and promote high-tech agricultural applications, contributing to the socio-economic development of the Capital and other localities.

Representatives of both groups reaffirmed their long-term commitment to cooperation, developing modern and sustainable livestock models associated with value chains and enhancing the competitiveness of the agricultural sector.
