On May 14th, in Tay Ninh City, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, De Heus Co., Ltd. (Netherlands), and Hung Nhon Vietnam Group Joint Stock Company held a press conference regarding the plan to organize the ceremony to announce Tay Ninh Province as a Disease-Free Zone. This event will be part of a series of activities including: the inauguration of the DHN Tay Ninh High-Tech Livestock Farming Area, the announcement of 7 key agricultural investment projects for the 2025-2030 period, and the announcement of the plan to export poultry products to the Halal market.

Đại diện lãnh đạo Bộ Nông nghiệp và Phát triển nông thôn, UBND tỉnh Tây Ninh, Công ty TNHH De Heus (Hà Lan) và Công ty Cổ phần Tập đoàn Hùng Nhơn Việt Nam chủ trì buổi họp báo.

Accordingly, the ceremony to announce 7 key agricultural investment projects for the 2025-2030 period and the plan to export poultry products to the Halal market will also be held on May 19th.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Long, Director of the Department of Animal Health (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), emphasized the importance of disease-free zones for the agricultural sector, especially livestock. Specifically, according to the regulations of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), when exporting animal products and animals, it is mandatory to comply with disease-free zone regulations and criteria.

"If we want to aim for exports, we are compelled to comply with these regulations. In Vietnam, disease-free zones are not a new initiative; they have been implemented for many years and have yielded positive results in facilitating the export of livestock products. To date, pork has been exported to markets like South Korea and Hong Kong (China); chicken has been exported to Japan," Mr. Nguyen Van Long stated.

Ông Trần Văn Chiến, Phó Chủ tịch UBND tỉnh Tây Ninh cho biết, xác định xây dựng cơ sở, vùng an toàn dịch bệnh động vật là quan trọng trong triển khai thực hiện chiến lược phát triển chăn nuôi

Representing the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, Vice Chairman Tran Van Chien shared that in 2024, the province's poultry flock comprised approximately 10 million birds, with a meat output of 62,460 tons. The livestock structure continues to shift from small-scale farming to concentrated, farm-scale operations focused on biosecure farming. The province currently has 116 poultry farms with a total flock of about 9 million birds. Among these, 81 farming establishments have been granted VietGAHP certificates. Additionally, there's one area in Duong Minh Chau district and six communal-level establishments in Go Dau district that are disease-free for avian influenza and Newcastle disease in chickens. Another 71 farming establishments have been certified as disease-free.

According to Mr. Tran Van Chien, Tay Ninh considers the development of animal disease-free establishments and zones crucial in implementing its livestock development strategy. Therefore, Tay Ninh's agricultural sector will reorganize production stages, vigorously promote the establishment of disease-free livestock zones, encourage businesses to invest in advanced technology slaughterhouses for livestock and poultry, diversify consumption markets, and form more high-tech livestock and slaughtering value chains.

Ông Gabor Fluit Tổng giám đốc toàn cầu tập đoàn Hoàng gia De Heus phát biểu tại buổi họp báo.

At the press conference, Mr. Gabor Fluit, Global CEO of Royal De Heus Group, shared the Netherlands' experience in establishing disease-free zones and effectively segmenting and isolating infected areas to prevent disease spread. He specifically highlighted disease-free zoning under OIE concepts as crucial for Vietnam to safely export meat and avoid food safety trade barriers. "If disease-free zones are managed well, Vietnam can export pork to Japan and South Korea, and even chicken breast to Europe. Currently, the value of chicken breast in Europe is two to three times higher than in Vietnam," Mr. Fluit explained.

Alongside the announcement ceremony for Tay Ninh province's Disease-Free Zone, Mr. Vu Manh Hung also elaborated on a series of events scheduled for May 19th. These include the inauguration of the DHN Tay Ninh High-Tech Livestock Farming Area, the announcement of seven key agricultural investment projects for the 2025-2030 period with a total investment of up to 2,500 billion VND, and the launch of the plan to export poultry products to the Halal market. This series of events also serves as a celebratory activity leading up to the 12th Tay Ninh Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term.

thông báo về chuỗi sự kiện ngày 19/5 tại Tây Ninh

Also at the press conference, Mr. Vu Manh Hung, Vice Chairman of the Digital Agriculture Association of Vietnam and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hung Nhon Group, announced a series of simultaneous events to be held on May 19th. These include: the inauguration ceremony of the DHN Tay Ninh High-Tech Livestock Farming Area; the announcement ceremony for 7 key agricultural investment projects for the 2025-2030 period, totaling an investment of 2,500 billion VND; and the launch of the plan to export poultry products to the Halal market.

The series of events on May 19th is expected to host around 1,000 domestic and international delegates and guests. This includes leaders from the State, Government, ministries, sectors, and localities, as well as international businesses and foreign business associations in Vietnam. This is anticipated to be the largest and most significant international-scale event ever held in the agricultural sector in Tay Ninh and the Southeast region.

Notably, the events will also see the participation of hundreds of leading businesses from Islamic (Halal) countries, along with customers and partners of Hung Nhon Group, De Heus, Bel Gà, high-tech poultry farms in Vietnam, and international partners in agricultural import-export.

    Strategic Collaborations and Future Vision

Parallel to the main events, there will be the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) between the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee, Hung Nhon Group, De Heus Group, and their partners. These MoUs cover: surveying and investing in the construction of a modern, high-tech hatchery, establishing high-tech livestock farms, and supplying duck breeding stock and duck meat products; and implementing a cooperation plan to build and develop a linked poultry production and supply chain in accordance with Halal standards for export to international and Islamic markets.

According to Mr. Vu Manh Hung, the series of events on May 19th marks the "first step" in a new strategic cooperation between Hung Nhon and De Heus. Accordingly, the two groups, along with their members, will establish the De Heus-Hung Nhon value chain. This chain will feature De Heus and Hung Nhon as the two "locomotives," alongside their linked system partners including DHN, Bel Gà, Green Chicken, Visakan, Big Dutchman, and Bio Agritech HN. This direction aligns with the global "farm-to-fork" model, which leading international corporations are pursuing. This model is projected to achieve billions of USD in revenue by 2030.
