On the afternoon of May 6, Mr. Tran Duc Thang, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, and Head of the Hanoi National Assembly Delegation, received and held a working session with Royal De Heus (the Netherlands) and Hung Nhon.
Also attending the meeting was Mr. Nguyen Xuan Luu, Member of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee.
Speaking at the meeting, Secretary Tran Duc Thang highly appreciated the strong cooperation established between Royal De Heus and Hung Nhon in recent years. He also expressed his impression of Royal De Heus as one of the world’s leading enterprises in sustainable agriculture and livestock farming.
According to the Hanoi Party Committee leader, as relations between Vietnam and the Netherlands continue to strengthen, the successful investment and development of Dutch enterprises in Vietnam have contributed significantly to enhancing bilateral ties.
Secretary Tran Duc Thang expressed confidence that following this meeting, Royal De Heus (the Netherlands) and Hung Nhon will continue to expand their investment in Vietnam, particularly in Hanoi.
Expressing appreciation for the remarks of the Hanoi Party Secretary, Mr. Co de Heus, Chairman of Royal De Heus, acknowledged the strong support of the Vietnamese Government in general and Hanoi in particular for the agricultural sector.
Providing an overview of Royal De Heus’s capabilities, Mr. Co de Heus highlighted that over four generations of leadership, the company has accumulated extensive experience in agriculture. Impressed by Vietnam’s agricultural potential, particularly the growing scale of farms, he expressed a desire to strengthen practical cooperation through specific projects, thereby contributing to the development of agriculture and agri-business in Hanoi and Vietnam.
Welcoming these intentions, Secretary Tran Duc Thang emphasized that Hanoi possesses significant advantages as the nation’s political and administrative center, a cultural hub, and a large consumer market with strong domestic and international connectivity.
He noted that the city’s demand for food, agricultural products, and essential goods is substantial, while local production capacity has yet to fully meet this demand. Therefore, Hanoi is focusing on attracting investors to develop high-quality production infrastructure and enhance value creation within the supply chain.
Secretary Tran Duc Thang affirmed that Hanoi is ready to create the most favorable conditions for Royal De Heus and Hung Nhon to cooperate and invest in the city, based on a “win-win” and responsible business approach. He expressed confidence that Chairman Co de Heus and partners will work closely with the city to soon develop concrete cooperation projects that deliver practical benefits for the people of Hanoi.
During the meeting, both sides also exchanged views on several issues of mutual interest.
